Each day of the workshop will involve Morning session: two 90-minute mini-courses, which will be accessible to graduate students who have taken an introductory class in algebraic geometry. Lunch session: 5-minute math talks by participants on a topic they find interesting. We encourage all participants to give a talk, even if they haven't begun research [...]
This workshop is intended to encourage undergraduates, graduate students and recent PhDs from underrepresented minority groups to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences and build research and mentoring networks. The Modern Math Workshop is a "pre-conference" part of the SACNAS National Conference. Both the Modern Math Workshop and the SACNAS conference take place in the Salt [...]
2017 SACNAS is a conference like no other. Equal parts science, culture, and community, 2017 SACNAS is the largest diversity in STEM conference in the country. We invite you to join us this October for three days of cutting-edge science, training, mentoring, and cultural activities for scientists at all levels and disciplines.
Generally known as JMM, the national meetings of the AMS are held annually for the purpose of advancing mathematical achievement, encouraging research, and providing the communication necessary to progress in the field. These meetings serve to preserve, supplement, and utilize the results of the research of mathematicians throughout the world.
These workshops are split into 2-day meetings where you will find a population of mostly female researchers, speakers, and graduate students from the US and Canada, previously run in collaboration with AWM. The meeting stimulated many new directions of investigation and collaboration that are ongoing and generates a mixed audience of around 70-80 people. First there [...]
